Wedding Party Decor: A Whole New World
As a bride, it is your right to have a memorable wedding day. Friends and family should share in your joy, so much that they remember your special day for many years to come. Juggling different combinations of flowers, colors and decorations, offers you a fair amount of possibilities. But when you start with wedding party decor, a whole new world opens up, and changes the picture completely.
In church, or at the actual ceremony, you would want to create an atmosphere of joy. The truth is, however, that YOU will be the center of attraction (and the dress, of course), so not much else will have much impact. Your guests will only be able to relax and look around by the time they reach the reception area. It is here where they will settle in, look around, and forma impressions. Think back to your own experiences at weddings, and compare the memories.
If you decide to create a theme, the use of wedding party decor will allow you to break free from the norm. You will probably end up spending more, but it will be worth it. You could also borrow some pieces to keep the costs down.
First, decide on a theme. It is usually easier to narrow down your focus, and be more specific. For instance, instead of trying to create a “garden theme”, try and create a “spring flower garden theme”. The more specific your selection, the easier it will be to bring everything together.
You might also want to take a long, hard look at the venue you wish to use. Can you picture your theme applied, given the layout? Would odd placement of entrances and dressing rooms interfere with your planned layout? Lastly, don’t forget to check the lighting system. To be able to create an atmosphere, you will probably want to be able to dim the lights, or at least to adapt to it if you can’t.
Start of by creating a central piece of attraction. It could be a large painting, or some old photos set in a majestic frame, or even your wedding cake, provided it is both striking and unusual. It could even be the string section you employed for the event. When your guests enter, their eyes have to focus somewhere immediately, and absorb the rest from there. In order to achieve maximum impact, the theme for your wedding party decor has to have a specific “starting point”.
Having a visible, consistent theme throughout your wedding party decor will create a visual perception that will set your wedding apart from many others. You will be able to create an air of sophistication and style that will have your guests taking note, and remember your wedding for years to come.
